auto plan insurance
As a resident of British Columbia, in order to insure your automobile, you must purchase certain mandatory coverage’s through the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia’s (ICBC) program Basic Autoplan.
ICBC is a Crown Corporation owned entirely by the British Columbia Provincial Government and is the sole provider of the mandatory Basic Autoplan coverage. ICBC also provides Optional Autoplan, which is additional coverage that you can purchase if you wish.
Seafirst Insurance Brokers provides both Basic Autoplan and Optional Autoplan, as well as the licenses and plates that you require.
Basic Autoplan includes five main types of coverage:
1) Third party legal liability coverage. |
2) Accident benefits.
3) Underinsured motorist protection.
4) Hit and run and underinsured motorist protection.
5) Inverse liability coverage.
Basic Autoplan pays damages if you are found legally liable for a crash. It provides financial assistance to cover your wage loss and to help pay for your medical or rehabilitation costs for personal injuries. It also provides additional coverage in situations where you, members of your household, or other occupants of your vehicle are injured in an accident where the at-fault motorist lacked sufficient coverage to pay damages awarded in a claim.

Optional Autoplan coverage provides you with a fuller range of protection. The most common Optional Autoplan coverage’s are Extended Third Party Liability, Collision and Comprehensive.
