COMING FROM OUT OF PROVINCE? Here’s what you need to know! Once you take up residence in BC, you have 30 days in which to register your vehicle(s) in this province.

YOU WILL NEED	- your current registration
	- A letter from your current insurance company (not the broker) indicating your claims experience for the previous 8 years with no at-fault accidents for maximum allowable discount.
	- A BC safety inspection certificate (required for cars, motorhomes, vans and small trucks with a gross vehicle weight of 3,500 kg or less)
YOU MUST THEN	- Take your vehicle to an Autoplan Broker who will check the condition of the exterior, confirm the serial number and note the mileage.
YOU MAY THEN	- Purchase BC Registration and Insurance from the Broker

COMPULSORY COVERAGES:

In BC the only compulsory coverage is Third Party Liability. For most vehicles, the minimum limit is $200,000. For heavy commercial vehicles the limit is higher.

OPTIONAL COVERAGES:

PHYSICAL DAMAGE: Collision and Comprehensive or Specified Perils coverage’s may be purchased on the same policy with your liability.

LIABILITY: It is suggested that you carry a minimum limit of $2,000,000 for liability but recommended that the limit be even higher. The cost to make the increase is very reasonable. Special consideration should be given to this section if you will be taking the vehicle into the USA. Remember, the limit is in Canadian funds!

ROADSTAR PACKAGE: This package is available to individuals who have carried their 40% Safe Driver Discount for at least 5 full years in BC. It provides the following added protection:
