Registering Your Out Of Province Vehicle
Bringing a vehicle in from out of province? What do you need to do and take with you to your British Columbia Autoplan broker? You must register the vehicle within 30 days of bringing it into BC.
- The vehicle will need to be at the broker’s office for registration, at which time the
- Autoplan agent will sight the VIN, condition of the vehicle, and mileage.
- If you are moving to or new to BC (from another Canadian jurisdiction), you may qualify for a claims-free discount for up to 8 years of claims free driving
- If your vehicle is coming from a Canadian jurisdiction you will need:
- Vehicle Registration
- Bill of Sale if you did not own the vehicle prior to entering BC
- Provincial Inspection
- If your vehicle is coming from the US or a foreign country you will need:
- Vehicle Registration
- Provincial Inspection
- Bill of Sale if you did not own the vehicle prior to entering BC
- Completed Form 1 with 2 stamps
- Customs Form
- Proper identification is required: generally, a current BC Driver’s Licence will be sufficient proof. Otherwise, ask us for the list of other acceptable proofs of identification before you attend the office
