ICBC Covid-19 Rebate

What a wonderful time of year!

There are two ICBC refunds on their way. One issued in March 2021 and another in May 2021

Earlier this month, we cover the introduction of ICBC’s Enhanced Care Coverage (ECC). Moreover, what it meant for your premiums and after accident care. Refunds associated with ECC will be mailed out in May 2021. If you would like to learn more, please see our earlier blog “ICBC Enhanced Care Coverage”.

In addition to the ECC refund, there is also a Covid-19 rebate. It is not associated with ECC. This rebate is a result of a reduction in accidents and claims. Policies active between April 1st, 2020 & September 30th, 2020 are eligible for the one time refund, with a few exceptions.

“Exceptions include customers with temporary operation permits (permits for 15 days or less), storage or per kilometer-based policies, as those already reflect lower usage. The low kilometer discount does not make a customer’s policy ineligible.” (ICBC n.d)

“What do I need to do to get my Covid-19 refund?”

Nothing. ICBC has begun mailing cheques as of mid-March 2021
